Why should I join mychumsclub.com?

Each section of life has special challenges and opportunities; the transition to a third age is no different.

Our club says that you can and should make this journey with new friends

We organise events where you can meet and exchange ideas to truly make your third age “a new dawn”. Our event guides are experts in their field.

We have commissioned professionals to write stimulating articles about making the most of this new adventure into the unknown territory away from formal work. You will read about inspiring baby boomers from the pens of Jane Wheatley who writes for national broadsheets, from Faith Glasgow about personal finance, from Theo Pike about river sports, Rowena Loverance on art and architecture and others who make their living from writing.

You will find top tips for travel, for health, for social issues: all tips relevant to our generation..

In the forum section you can share your thoughts on a wide range of issues including an area where you can promote the activities of your children to our receptive audience of club members

What makes us different, is that we are a private club. We carry no advertising and we check each application to keep away those undesirables who inhabit the web sites of other social networks

By imposing selection criteria, we vastly increase your chances of meeting new people who share your interests.

More importantly we encourage you to post a summary of yourself: who you are and what you like, in the knowledge that a million other people will not view these personal details (we hide your address and phone number from everyone even members).Members can however share the enthusiasms that will light up their profile

We have chosen our articles, our advice and our events to appeal to people from 50 to 69 who have worked or work in the professions, in commerce and the public sector.

We encourage you to try new interests and to develop your current ones with stimulating new acquaintances.

All that we offer is tailored to our members. We recommend and advise. We select that which you will not easily find elsewhere.

You pay a chums fee at our events but there are no joining or annual fees. Your friend may join you at events as a guest but they should join separately to have a member profile.

You may read more under the “about us” tabs and you can read the first part of many articles. For the rest you should take us on trust. Trust is at the core of our ethos.
