The Board
The directors and their friends are excited by the prospect of providing you with a service to enrich your new life.
Here is a quick biog of our directors..
Andrew Thatcher: Chairman MyChumsClub
I worked for six years at the
British
Museum , running the shops and the publishing business. Previously I had been a director of international manufacturing and licensing for
Liberty, worked at Lyle and Scott and Dunhill in a variety of posts. I have lived in the
UK ,
France ,
Canada and
Hong Kong . I know
Japan pretty well and went to
China three times organising the commercial side of the Terracotta Army exhibition.
The idea for this club came to me on a long flight back from a birthday party in
Buenos Aires in 2007. I was heartened to discover that others had looked at this baby boomer market but no-one else had come up with the idea of a protected club
Tony Philipson: retired CEO of international packaging company.Non executive director.
I began the retirement process early in 1999 After 30 years of round the world business travel - much of it while CEO of a couple of listed companies - I eased my way into a more sedate lifestyle as a NED in the private equity industry.
This period of my business life ended in 2005.
Today's interests include active management of an investment portfolio, a lot of golf and tennis with CHUMS when aches and pains permit and the collection of more airmiles but this time purely via leisure travel.
After a three year residence in
Rio de Janeiro in the 70ies, life is now divided
between the Home Counties and the
Costa del Sol.
Nick Thatcher: IT consultant British Petroleum.
I work at British Petroleum in
London managing the delivery of a middleware system to support trading settlement systems.
Previously I worked in the financial sector at Barclays developing innovative thin-client printing and auto-provisioning solutions and prior to that at EBS rolling out a new trading system to three hundred European banks
It has been great fun working up this site with my father.
